Superlatives in Chicago Area High School basketball tonight!!!!!!

Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

I was at Proviso West for an event that was put together two weeks ago. The main event was #1 Glenbard West vs #5 Simeon Career Academy. Well….let’s just say Glenbard West made it a ho hum night. #1 smacked Simeon 60-32. That’s the correct score folks!!!!! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Simeon team get beat up like that by an in state team. There were two other earlier games. I missed the entire first game which was a Proviso West win over Fenwick 58-55. Then Proviso East pulled off the upset over #7 Hillcrest. Both Class 3A favorites lost on the same court tonight. I said two weeks ago no team in Illinois will beat Glenbard West, and I more feel that way after tonight. Here’s the superlatives for tonight:

Senior Bobby Durkin 19 points for Glenbard West in wipeout of Simeon. Game MVP.

Senior forward Gonzaga commit Braden Huff 14 points 7 rebounds 4 blocks and 3 steals in wipeout of Simeon.

Senior Army commit Ryan Renfro 8 points 15 rebounds for Glenbard West in wipeout of Simeon.

Senior Nicholas Robinson 11 points rebounds for Simeon in loss to Glenbard West.

Senior guard Dakari Presley 21 points for Proviso East in win over Hillcrest. Game MVP.

Senior Javon Johnson 15 points for Proviso East in win over Hillcrest.

Junior Jaloni Johnson 15 points for Proviso East in win over Hillcrest.
