Supersectional Monday the best day on the calendar for boys high school basketball in Illinois.

So close to Champaign but so far. Here’s some notes for tonight #RoadToChampaign.

Chicago Public League still alive to win state titles in all 4 classes (Marshall, Perspectives Leadership, Simeon Career Academy, Kenwood Academy)

Chicago Catholic League still alive to win in 3 classes (1A,2A,3A) (St Frances De Sales, DePaul College Prep, Marmion Academy, St Ignatius College Prep)

Class 3A could have the same teams in Champaign as last year (St Ignatius College Prep, Simeon Career Academy, Sacred Heart Griffin, Metamora). All are in different Supersectionals.

East St Louis and Sacred Heart Griffin are trying to double up and win a basketball title to go with the football title last fall. They play each other tonight in Supersectional.

Grayslake Central, Marmion Academy, Perspectives Leadership, and Downers Grove North are trying to make the trip Downstate for first time.
