Here are some team previews. Here we go:

SCHAUMBURG:

Schaumburg finished 16-15 overall last season. We return essentially all 5 starters. Two of the guys started the last 10 games of the year last season. Team is led by two time all conference and all area point guard Jordan Tunis who averaged 15.2 ppg last season. 6-8 Senior Zion Young is also back. He averaged 10.1 ppg and 8.1 rpg. Zion has really improved and is going to have a huge year. Senior Guard Javonte McCoy also is back and averaged 8.3ppg and is our best perimeter defender. Other two starters are both Juniors. 6-5 wing Cam Anderson is going to have a break out season, high flyer who rebounds and guards very well too. Junior 6-2 forward Ray Black is our other starter. Starting QB for our football team. One of our best shooters in the program.

Couple guys to look out for off our bench is 6-2 junior guard Aiden Patterson who is gonna be a big time scorer off the bench for us. Senior James Shorgren is the toughest kid in our program. Transfer Tony Horton is a tough guard who transferred from Bolingbrook. Two Sophs that will make an impact are 6-3 Jason Jancik and 6-2 guard Aaron Shogren (best shooter in our program).

Saxons went 24-4 this summer (4-0 RB live event) and 19-1 when all five starters were together. Only loss was to a tough Hinsdale Central team by 5. I don't take summer too serious when it comes to wins and losses but was very happy how we played.  I believe we will have a chance to compete for the MSL West. Barrington to me is the favorite but I believe anyone can beat anyone in our conference. I do think we can be at top 25 team this year if we stay healthy and take care of business. Saxons also play a very tough non conference schedule. Playing Benet, Evanston and playing at Hinsdale Central for Christmas.

BUTLER COLLEGE PREP (CHICAGO):

School: Butler College PrepCoach: Lyvonte Eskridge Cell Phone: (224)830-6588

Outlook for this season: 20 - 8

Top Returning Players (Position, Height, Year in school): Danny Bennett Jr. Guard 6’3 SR; Jamal Small Point Guard 6’1 SR; DJ Taylor Jr. 5’10 Point Guard SR; Michael Smith Jr. Forward 6’6 JR

Top Newcomers (Position, Height, Year in school): Julius Hamlin Jr Guard 6’2 JR; Jordan Whitley Forward 6’5 JR

Top teams in your conference: Butler College Prep; Johnson College Prep; Comer

Players on your team and in the conference to consider for the list of the area’s best: Danny Bennett; Jamal Small; Julius Hamlin; TJ Seals (Johnson)

Interesting story idea about your team: Butler only graduated 2 seniors. Returning top scorers in Danny Bennett (25ppg 13 rbs), Jamal Small (10ppg 3 spg) and DJ Taylor (8ppg) and adding Julius Hamlin Jr. should make Butler a top contender for Noble League championship and one the area better small schools. Should also have a chance to compete against the states top 2A teams. Really strong non conference schedule will help prepare us.

LOMBARD COLLEGE PREP (CPSA):

School: Lombard College Prep (CPSA)

Coach: Kadir Oz

Cell: 224 500 5282

Season Schedule: Attached

Outlook for this season: Playing a 30 game regular season schedule. Will be playing in the DGN Thanksgiving Invitational and the ICCP/Westmont Christmas Classic. Graduated 9 Seniors from last year's roster. Will have a significantly younger roster this year but will hope to follow up from last year's success of winning 14 games (the most in program history) and winning our conference title for the first time in school history.

Top returning players: Hamzah Shouman (2025, PG/SG, 6'2). He is sitting on 1,417 career points. He scored 654 last season as a Junior. He is looking to hit 2,000 points for his high school career. He will be the focal point of the offense and will carry most of the workload each night but he has hopes of playing at the D3 or D2 level so he is ready for whatever it takes.

Top newcomers: Abu-Bakr Hasan (2028, SF, 6'1). Has been in our middle school program since 6th grade. Has started to hit a growth spurt and is evolving into a very versatile wing player. He is the brother of the late Hasan Hasan (Class of 2024) who passed away in August from a tragic car accident. His motivation this year is to honor his brother who inspired him to play the game.

Big things expected from 6'8 junior Johnny Aluyi and 6'7 soph Wes Shelby. Jaymon Hornsby is a top scorer coming up! Had 27 vs Meanstreetz 16U national team this summer.  Great fall thus far. Win the Roma fall league and are 6-2 at DRose fall league.
