Big Tim’s first Chicago Public League White Division game in years. Yes it was a blowout but nice to watch under the radar talent. Here we go:
Dunbar (Chicago) 110 Kelly College Prep (Chicago) 34.
Play of the game:
Kelly player was driving on the fast break and Wordlaw went up and blocked the shot WITH TWO HANDS!!!!! WHAT AN ATHLETIC PLAY!!!!!
There’s talent everywhere in the state. My opinion Junior Jordan Wordlaw is at worst one of the top 5 talents in the Chicago Public League no matter what division. Do it all guard on both ends. Dunbar pressed the entire game 84 feet with no let up. More teams need to do this as both teams learn from it. As a Coach I’ve been on both ends of it and didn’t complain as in when I lost by 50 and the other team kept pressing. Sometimes teams and players need to be embarrassed, they listen to their coach more closely in practice. To add the more you play against pressure, the better your team gets. Only thing is you don’t want your starters getting injured in a blowout, so there’s that. Enough of my soliloquy not much to talk about here. Dunbar led 22-11 at end of one quarter, 54-24 at half, and eventually went to a
running clock. Dunbar ups its record to 11-7, 5-0 in Chicago Public League White Central looking to move up to the Red next season. Kelly College Prep (Chicago) drops to 5-6, 1-4 in conference play.
