Top 5 sleepers in Class of 2020 Nationally

Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

Jaden Ivey(Indy Heat)- This 6'3"combo the Purdue commit was consistently solid on both ends of the court on the Nike EYBL Circuit and the Peach Jam. Good athlete that can get to the rim with a nice first step. He's athletic enough to finish at the rim and shows a good three point shot. He's a good defender who has the potential to be a great one by the time he hits college. He needs to get stronger, tighten his handle and protect the ball. He's ranked 86th Nationally by Rivals.com. He received an invite to the Team USA Training Camp going on this coming weekend.

Mark Williams(Boo Williams)- This 7 footer is in my Top 5 Nationally. He runs the floor very well, he finishes at the rim, has a nice jump hook in the lane, protects the rim, and rebounds at a high rate. His needs to get stronger and extend the range on his jumper, as the stretch 4 is in vogue for today's game. He's ranked 37th Nationally by 24/7sports. Look for a rankings bump up for him. Brother of former Duke Women's player Elizabeth Williams, they may have the inside track. Duke, UCLA, Ohio State, West Virginia, Baylor, Vanderbilt, LSU and a host of others are vying for his signature.

Jamal Mashburn Jr(PSA Cardinals)- This 6'1" combo guard is a stone cold scorer. He averaged over 20 points a game at the Peach Jam, though his team did not get out of Pool Play. He's ranked 88th by 24/7 sports. He has the best mid range jump shot in the class, is a good three point shooter, and finishes at the rim. He has a tight handle, good enough to run point guard. He projects s a stone cold scorer in college. He gives a good effort on defense but his height may limit what positions he can guard. California, Xavier, Wake Forest, Virginia, Notre Dame, Illinois, Penn, UConn, Florida, Yale, and Brown along with a few others vying for his signature.

Addison Paterson(Team Why Not)- This 6'7" wing has been having monster outings on the Nike EYBL and Peach Jam. He has a good three point shot, is good at attacking the basket, and can score in bunches. He has to improve his defense and his decision making. The Canadian is ranked 35th Nationally by 24/7 sports. He helped the team to a runner-up finish at the Peach Jam. Memphis, Iowa, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Oregon, Illinois, Arizona State amongst others vying for his signature.

Ramean Hinton(Team Rose)- 6'3" combo guard is very underrated Nationally and in the State of Illinois. He can his the three, slash to the basket and finish, has a good mid range floater, and gets down and grimy on the defensive end. He hits the glass very well for his size. He has to improve his decision making as far as his passing, and can get out of control on the offensive end at times. He's not ranked in National Top 100 in the major recruiting services(though he should be). Wisconsin Green Bay, Kent State, Boise State, St Louis, Cleveland State, and UAB are vying for his signature.
