This back and forth affair was not decided till the end and Lane Tech had a couple of chances to tie the game but The House escapes with another road win. Here we go:
Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago) 67 Lane Tech College Prep (Chicago) 65: It was Lane Tech basketball alumni night for former players to return. They saw a great offensive game but left disappointed. Westinghouse led after one quarter even though junior Brayden Rosenkrantz hit his only three of the game at the first quarter buzzer, but Lane Tech's senior Jackson Labkon got hot hitting three of his four three pointers in the second quarter. Lane Tech led 43-39 at halftime though Westinghouse senior DJ Bolden hit 5 of 7 threes for 17 points in the half. Junior big man Dalton Scantlebury had 19 points and 9 rebounds at the half to keep Lane Tech ahead. Lane Tech put a box and done at times on Bolden and kept double teams on him when he did touch the ball. Westinghouse had reinforcements for that defense. Seniors Askia Bullie and Treyvon Ali took turns hitting long threes in the third quarter as they assisted each other on a number of baskets. Westinghouse led 59-53 at the end of the stanza. Offenses bogged down in the fourth quarter as Lane Tech outscored The House 12-8 in the quarter. Game was tied in last minute, then Westinghouse had possession of the ball and dribble it down to 12.8 seconds before a timeout, Out of the timeout Bolden received the ball, drove it to the basket and scored his only points of the second half over Scantlebury. Lane Tech drove it down and senior Shaheed Solebo drove it to the rim and missed, Scantlebury got the rebound on the floor in the lane and called timeout with 2.3 seconds left. Lane Tech got the ball in and it bounced to senior Parker Williams who missed an open ten foot jumper from the baseline and time ran out. Westinghouse celebrated a big win in the Chicago Public League Red North/West and stayed with others in 1 loss column. Lane Tech was led by a huge game from Scantlebury with 26 points and 20 rebounds (20/20 double/double) 2 assists 1 steal and 1 block, Solebo had 17 points (3 threes) 8 rebounds 2 assists and 2 blocks. Labkon had 12 points and 2 assists. Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago) ups it's record to 14-5, 5-1 in conference stays tied for the lead with Whitney Young. Log jam is clearing a little bit in first place as Lincoln Park lost tonight to Walter Payton College Prep (Chicago). Farragut also lost tonight. Lane Tech College Prep (Chicago) drops to 11-10, 4-2 in conference.
DJ Bolden, 6'2" senior combo guard, Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago) scored 17 of his 19 points (5 threes) in the first half. At one point he hit 4 threes in row and his only points in the second half was the game winner.
Askia Bullie, 6'0" senior point guard , Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago) was in scoring mode most of the night. Hit a couple of long threes from the parking lot tonight. Stat line was 16 points (4 threes) 1 rebound 5 assists and 3 steals.
Treyvon Ali, 6'3" senior combo guard, Westinghouse College Prep (Chicago) scored at all three levels tonight. Stat line 16 points (4 threes) 7 rebounds 5 assists and 2 steals.

Luke Williams of North (Naperville) scored 31 points tonight in his final high school basketball game. He's getting surgery on a torn labrum suffered during football season. He's headed to Purdue on a football scholarship. He was on my All Area team last season for basketball. Best of success in your future endeavors young man.
