Will Kentucky jump in on the Karim Mane parade?

Writer's picture: Big TimBig Tim

Class of 2020 Karim Mane is a 6'4" point guard out of Vanier College(Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a good shooter, passer, and can get to the rim and finish. He's serviceable defensively and needs to get stronger. Kentucky had offered only one point guard in this recruiting cycle: Sharife Cooper out of McEachern in Powder Springs,Georgia. It's slim to none he will sign with Kentucky as he should be committing to Auburn very soon. Kentucky was looking hard at Daishen Nix considered by most to be the top ranked point guard in the class. Kentucky never pulled the trigger so Nix committed to UCLA(as expected). John Calipari seems to me to not be a fan of the point guards in this recruiting cycle. Mane though would be a good get if Kentucky goes ahead and offer him a scholarship. Maryland has been most mentioned with him along with Kansas, Providence, Illinois, Minnesota and others. This could be complicated though as he's eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft, as he's 19 years old already and would be 20 starting his freshman year of college. Look for him to sign late if he even goes to college. I look for Kentucky to turn up the heat and give him an offer sooner rather than later.
